Hope House was established in 2015 to help fulfill a dream of hope in Morgan County. It is a place where families can meet to learn essential life skills, build relationships and feel God's love among them.
With Morgan County having one of the highest poverty rates in the state, the need to offer educational workshops and opportunities for families to grow together became evident. With the generosity of the Blackwell family and a donation from a local philanthropist, Churches in Mission was able to purchase the building at 148 E Main Street, formerly Blackwell Insurance. This facility allows the Mission to offer a safe and inviting atmosphere where clients can participate in programs and activities.
Hope House currently has an office for counselling, a computer room, a classroom, and a play room for children. There is space for serving food and a former storage area is designated as the future kitchen. Classes have included Eating Healthy on a Budget, pre-diabetes workshop series, Healthy Cooking, financial classes, computer classes, family communications, Signs of Alcohol Abuse, the basics of sewing and mending, and monthly Family Fun Nights where families are encouraged to talk together as they share a meal and an activity.

Second Tuesday each month at 6:30 p.m.
This is to provide families an opportunity to discuss some of those hard to talk about topics, with the goal of strengthening the family unit. We share a meal, conversation and a family activity.
Let’s put an end to poverty and hunger in Morgan County!
