Churches in Mission was approached about opening an office in Martinsville in 2015, and in October of that year, opened a small office in the LYNAY Center on Morgan Street. The new space was outgrown very quickly with a need for a larger location. In July 2017, a very generous local philanthropist provided the funding to purchase a facility at 60 W. Pike Street in Martinsville. After necessary repairs and updates, the new location opened to clients in October 2017.
A very small emergency-only pantry is available; however, the First Church of the Nazarene operates a full pantry nearby. Financial assistance, clothing, Christmas assistance and referrals are available.
Clients may receive assistance once every 30 days, but financial assistance only once every 12 months.
Churches in Mission relies on volunteers and donations to meet local needs.
We are always in need of teen and children's clothing and toys. Diapers, laundry detergent and personal care items are also needed.
